État du Nouveau programme de Certification du PNCE

La certification des entraîneurs au Canada est en train de vivre des changements significatifs avec la mise en place de la Nouvelle Certification du PNCE basée sur les compétences. La formation menant à la certification des anciens Niveaux I et 2, a été remplacée par “Entraîneurs des Archers débutants” et par “Entraîneurs des Archers Intermédiaires”.  La Formation de Niveau III sera remplacée par “Formation pour Débuter en Compétition” et “Formation pour Progresser en Compétition”. Ces 2 formations seront disponibles au début de 2010.

Le niveau de “Certification Progression en Compétition” (ou l’ancien Niveau III) sera le Niveau de formation d’entraîneur requis par les Jeux du Canada aux Jeux d’hiver de 2011.

Certification de Niveau 4

Les Niveaux de Certification 4 et 5 n’ont pas encore été modifié selon le nouveau PNCE. Plusieurs entraîneurs ont travaillé à parachever ce niveau de certification. Le processus implique plusieurs années à réaliser les “Tâches“ aux Instituts Nationaux d’Entraînement  (NCI) ou via des Programmes Universitaires.

Trois (3) entraîneurs ont récemment complete ce processus et sont maintenant reconnus par le PNCE comme Entraîneurs Certifiés Niveau 4 :

Coaching Certification Update

New NCCP Certification Status

Since 2002, coach certification in Canada has been undergoing revision. Under the direction of the Coaching Association of Canada, the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is being revised to better reflect competency based certification.

In archery, the old Level 1 and Level 2 certification are no longer trained or certified.

Certification of Instructors working in the Recreational stream is now provided through a revised system of training, evaluation and certification. Those working primarily with beginning archers can now be certified as Instructors of Beginning Archers. Those working primarily with more advanced recreational archers can now be certified as Instructors of Intermediate Archers. Training and evaluation of these Instructors has been ongoing for three years.

Currently, revisions are being developed in the Competition stream. Coaches working primarily at introducing archers to their first competitions at the local and provincial level will be trained, evaluated and certified as Introduction to Competition Coach. Coaches working with athletes with some competition experience and developing at the National level will be trained, evaluated and certified at Competition Development Coach. Revised courses and materials are currently being developed and will be piloted later this year.

Coaches with old NCCP certification will continue to be certified at the levels 1 to 5, although, eventually, no new certifications of these designations will occur. These certifications remains valid for any program that accepts the old NCCP certification. For example, in 2011 Canada Winter Games, coaches may be either certified Competition Development Coach or Level 3 Coach. Coaches working with beginning archers may be either Level 1 Coach or Instructor of Beginning Archers.

Level 4 Certification

The Level 4 and Level 5 NCCP training and certification has not yet been modified.  The process still involves several years of completing “Tasks“at National Coaching Institutes  (NCI) or through University programs.

Several coaches have been working on achieving this level 4 certification.
